The Canadian Professional Association for Transgender Health (CPATH) held it’s third biennial conference at the historic Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba, September 21st – 23rd. CPATH is a professional organization devoted to the health care of individuals with gender variant identities. The conference brought together professionals from various fields to work towards increasing access to health care for trans people in Canada.

The Trans PULSE Project had a strong presence at the conference. Jake Pyne and Anna Travers gave an oral presentation entitled “Mobilizing research, strengthening community: A report on the Trans Health Advocacy Summit”, which focused on the recent Trans Health Advocacy Summit held in August 2012. Nik Redman was part of a sexuality panel and gave a presentation entitled “Gay, bisexual and MSM trans guys: No assumptions!”.  Greta Bauer also gave an oral presentation entitled “Transition, transphobia and suicidality among trans people in Ontario: Identification of strategies for suicide prevention from the Trans PULSE Project”. Both Greta and Nik’s presentations focused on recent results from Trans PULSE. Presentations from CPATH 2012 will be posted in our Research & Study Results section soon.
